Fellows in Research Program
Twenty-four (24) high school student fellows will be provided a one week, all-inclusive, residential academy where extensive time will be devoted to research fundamentals and launching their own independent research projects. Students will learn basic research concepts such as data collection techniques, technical writing, lab safety, and the scientific method. The fellows are then provided intense support throughout the 2018-2019 academic year as they conduct their own research project by having both a Butte High School teacher devoted to be their in-school research mentor and a graduate/or PhD student as their on-campus mentor. Fellows are expected to enter their research in the Intermountain Junior Science and Humanities Symposium in February, 2019.
The 2018 Fellows in Research Academy will run from Monday, June 11 through Friday, June 15 on the campus of Montana Tech. Deadline to apply has been extended.
